Many of you folks outside of Connecticut have inquired about me hosting a tying class in closer to proximity to your locations.  Well I am here to tell you that this winter, its on the menu.  In December and January I will be conducting two separate classes involving tying streamers at two different locations.  Both of which should be a great time, and I look forward to seeing you there.  Expect to tie some familiar streamers of mine, but also some new patterns as well.  Great time to brush up on or learn how to tie with some new materials, as well as working with some deer hair in a spinning and stacking capacity.  Space is limited so use the contact links provided to sign up.  Here are the details.

Big bugs, and how to tie them.  Join me as I take you through every step of how to tie a variety of articulated streamers.  If you've been wondering how these flies are tied, or they just seem to give you fits when you tie them on your own, this class will put you on track and teach you the correct way to build them.  Class tuition will be $75 per person for a 4-5 hour session.  Included will be all hooks and materials, you'll need to bring your tying vise, light, all your tying tools and a selection of 6/0 or 140 denier thread.  If you're limited on thread colors, white and black will suffice.  More details on the class will be released in the months to come and all booking will be done through Greg at the shop.  Intermediate tying skill level required for this class, maximum of 10 students.

Join me for a flytying class involving instruction on tying some of the newer modern streamers.  This class will encompass a few of my more known streamer patterns as well as some new ones, and potentially some stuff from some other noted fly tyers.  The cost of the class will be $60 per person for roughly 3 solid hours of instruction.  Materials and lists will be provided, you will need your vise, tools and a complement of threads.  Class starts at 9 AM and runs till noon, we will break for lunch and then come back for a presentation at 1 PM involving the many ways in which to fish these types of flies, the gear necessary to do so and also some of my thought processes on designing these types of patterns.
